Andrea's practice includes work on an array of state and federal education law and policy issues.
Since joining Foresight in 2015, Andrea has focused on student data privacy, charter schools, and open educational resources matters, including monitoring and analyzing State and federal legislative and regulatory developments. Andrea also provides advice about the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and has worked closely with Foresight's clients to monitor the Every Student Succeeds Act consolidated planning process, while also supporting the team's regulatory and policy work with State and local leaders seeking advice about how to effectively implement ESSA.
Previously, Andrea served as a staff attorney at Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers, Inc. where she represented over 150 clients in the dependency court system in Los Angeles County. Andrea was also employed by BARBRI San Diego where she served as a tutor for students who were studying for the California Bar Examination. Andrea attended California Western School of Law where she graduated in the top ten in her class. During law school, she interned at the San Diego Alternate Public Defender’s Office, Dependency Division, was an assistant to four professors, and was on the Board of Editors for the California Western International Law Journal.
